At Art Forum Berlin, Art&Idea presents a site-specific multi media installation by Luca Buvoli, which is part of the project Flying: Practical Training For Beginners. It is presented as “the 33-step method”, developed by the fictional Professor M.a.S., on how to satisfy one of mankind’s most ancient dreams, the dream of flying. The exhibited “promotional video” is made of clips from the longer film version of Flying: Practical Training For Beginners. In a scientific tone, the professor instructs his audience to a series of movements of the body which when correctly performed allow one to lift him/herself from the ground and fly without the help of any mechanical device. The video, together with a group of multi-part sculptures made of cast translucent resin titled Flying Vectors as well as drawings, gouaches, charts, diagrams, plots and instruction manuals, turns Art&Idea’s project room at Art Forum Berlin into a fantastic flight simulation laboratory. In addition, recent work by Uli Aigner, Fariba Hajamadi, Emiko Kasahara, Jenny Marketou, Rudi Molacek, Maria Serebriakova and Eugenia Vargas Pereira can be viewed.
