Challenge —  In the early 1990s there were hardly any exhibition opportunities for international conceptual art in Mexico.

Objective — To create opportunities that lead to a dialogue between an aspiring generation of Mexican artists and the international art world.

Accomplishment — Opening of a professional exhibition space called Art&Idea in the neglected, historical center of Mexico City and the organization of a precise curatorial program of international conceptual art.

Impact — Rapid national and international recognition in the scene and media (Artforum, Flash Art, Art News, etc.) as one of Mexico’s most influential galleries with the first solo exhibitions by later world-famous artists such as Santiago Sierra, Teresa Margolles and Damián Ortega.
