Challenge — A wealthy client repeatedly bought art, but without inside knowledge and a network. The result was a collection with no artistic or financial value.

Objective — To build up an internationally renowned art collection with a clear curatorial focus and value-adding potential.

Accomplishment — A collection of international contemporary art with museum quality. Focus on works on paper, photographs and video, for example, by Christian Boltanski, Louise Bourgeois and Fischli & Weiss. Annual collection budget of 250,000 Euros over 10 years.

Impact — Based on advice from Art&Idea, the collector succeeded in assembling a unique art collection that meets the highest aesthetic criteria and, at the same time, profitably invested his capital for art as an alternative form of investment. As a patron, he now regularly supports young artists and their work.
