GOETHE-INSTITUT BARCELONA

Challenge — The Goethe-Institut in Barcelona did not have its own visual arts program.

Objective — To utilize the new institute building more with its own art exhibitions.

Accomplishment — Development and organization of a curatorial program to intensify the cultural dialogue between Germany and Spain, involving the entire institute building and the presentation of young artists and very established, museum positions of international contemporary art.

Impact — Very strong kick-off program of the Goethe-Institut in intensive partnership with Spanish and international lenders (Caixa Forum, Darboven Archive, MACBA) and artists.
