VIENNA ART WEEK

Challenge — Vienna is very strongly positioned as a city of music, but not as a city of art – despite the many museums, galleries and artists.

Objective — To strengthen the positioning of Vienna as a “City of Art” nationally and internationally.

Accomplishment — Development and implementation of the Vienna Art Week.

Starting with 15 program partners, 500 guests and 20 events in one week, the Vienna Art Week has developed into a globally unique festival with 70 program partners, 35,000 visitors and more than 200 individual events in a single week.

Impact — The Vienna Art Week has made a significant contribution towards making Vienna one of the world’s most important centers of fine art among key national and international opinion leaders. The exceptional format has been repeatedly imitated (e.g., Berlin, Hong Kong), but nowhere else does it reach the depth and breadth of the Vienna program. The cohesion and communication within the art scene have been reinforced. Constantly growing media impact online and offline at home and abroad.
