Robert Punkenhofer has been appointed member of the International Advisory Council at the Program of Latin American Studies, Princeton University

Founded in 1967 as one of the nation’s first programs dedicated to Latin American area studies, the Princeton University Program in Latin American Studies (PLAS) promotes interdisciplinary study and seeks to inspire knowledge of and experience in Latin America and the Caribbean vis-à-vis regional culture, history, socioeconomic conditions, politics, and society.

In addition to a broad array of public programming, and undergraduate and graduate courses in a range of disciplines, PLAS funds undergraduate, graduate student, and faculty field research; provides support for innovative study and travel proposals via the competitive Sigmund Scholars Award; supports undergraduate internships throughout the region; and brings prominent scholars from the region to teach and carry out research at Princeton. PLAS is directed by Professor Ruben Gallo.
