Artists: Mercedes Gertz and Máximo González
At the SCOPE Art Fair 2004 in Miami Beach, Art&Idea introduces new works by Mexican artists Mercedes Gertz and Máximo González. González presents a site-specific installation based on his works of pieces of devalued paper money, transforming the hotel room of SCOPE Art Fair into a ‘caja fuerte’, a ‘strong-box’ of artistic treasures. In the bathroom Mercedes Gertz presents new small-scale paintings and works on paper, investigating her personal objects of desire and inner self.
